![]() In certain Voice focus countries in Africa and Asia, such as in Uganda, Tanzania and Indonesia, the general space for the LGBTI community has shrunk alarmingly. In a surprising number of countries, the penalty for same-sex relationships is prison with governments using outdated colonial-era laws. In many places where Voice operates, the everyday lived experiences of the LGBTI community range from acceptance without legal recognition to widespread stigmatisation and persecution. ![]() LGBTI rights have made significant progress over the past few years –but only in some parts of the world. This includes some general statistics the status from the three context analyses Voice has done, combined with some external resources that you may find interesting.
